There are very few films that are completely without flaws. Similarly, there are very few films that are masterpieces.
Some will say that, at 138 minutes, “The Tree of Life” is too long. For them, it will be.
Others will say that the film is often confusing. That feeling may be true for many.
The picture may be dubbed pretentious. Certainly, the material is thought-provoking. This film is art that asks audiences to do more than just “catch on” in exchange for their entertainment dollars.
