What It’s About: Set in the beautiful eternal city of Rome, Woody Allen’s latest comedy doesn’t top last summer”s Oscar-winning “Midnight in Paris,” but is rather an airy excursion into the lives of several Romans and a few visiting Americans. “To Rome with Love” cuts back and forth among four disparate stories, all set in the beautiful Eternal City. The tales appear to take place in the same time frame, but don’t.
One occupies a single day. Another encompasses weeks, or months. The stories never intersect.
None of this matters. Each narrative is complete unto itself, taking the time necessary to reach its conclusion.
