Sarah's Key-Reelworld (Kent Tentschert/Carol Hemphill) Carol’s Take: American-born, Paris-based, journalist Julia Jarmond (Kristin Scott Thomas) is writing about the July 1942 round up of Parisian Jews by French police. Before being shipped to camps, yellow-starred men, women and children were detained in a sports arena, the Vel’d’Hiv. There, medical care was inadequate; food was scarce; restrooms did not work.
